WHAT IS AN EVENT?

An event is a momentous occurrence or gathering that is planned and celebrated to commemorate a particular occasion or achievement, with the intention of creating lasting memories and experiences. Although we experience many events throughout our lives, we are unlikely to remember them all, as our memories are influenced by the significance and emotional impact of each event. Fundamentally, an event is a premeditated happening that encompasses a sense of significance, remembrance and importance all at once. It goes beyond being a simple festivity or a well-organized gathering or assembly with pleasant decorations.

Whatever your definition and scope of events are, there’s surely more to know about events. It is not just about the cliché that you already have in mind. An event can be a mini party, a big party, a corporate event, an activity between you and your friends, a show of love between you and your lover, or just a “you” time between you and yourself alone. There’s really no standard definition as to what an event can be as it is usually dependent on the celebrant and how far they are willing to go. All that said, there are different categories of events. Regardless of your choice of caterer, extra services, location, scope, etc., your event will eventually fall under one of these categories, which are:

Leisure Events: from the name, you may have picked up a clue, and yes, you are right. These kinds of events are organized and designed purely to have fun and spending your free time with your selected and chosen audience. No one saddles you as the celebrant with the responsibility of performance and impression. It is just you and the event is all about you.

You can think of pool parties, entertainment events, musical nights, bonfire, proposals, club parties (spending time with Thai bar girls, Ukrainian escorts, European escorts and Russian escorts in Bangkok), and the likes.

One unique thing about this category of events is that it doesn’t have to follow any set standard, rules or policies, and you don’t need a reason to host it. You don’t need a reason to want to have an explosive time in a 5-star club in Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket because you are in charge, and you decide what goes and what doesn’t.

Cultural Events: cultural events are gatherings arranged to commemorate heritage and traditions, and typically involve active participation from the community. Festivals and religious observances fall under the umbrella of cultural events. Thailand is a land of festivities and you have a high chance of witnessing one on your trip to Thailand. Therefore, it is noteworthy.

Organizational Events: organizational events, otherwise known as corporate events are typically meticulously planned with a clear agenda and goals, often focused on commercial, sales-oriented, or political objectives. They are typically organized by specific groups within organizations to raise awareness. When talking about corporate events, you can think of an event organized to celebrate your boss. In the case that you are the boss, you can imagine it as an event you design to meet with or celebrate with your workers. Organizational events can also be a product launch, fundraising event, educational event, etc.

Personal Events: Personal events refer to celebrations held at an individual level for family and friends. Such events are usually organized to commemorate and enjoy personal milestones with acquaintances. Typically, attendees at these types of events are either invited or part of the group organizing the event. Examples include birthday parties, wedding events, baby shower, anniversaries, etc.

As you read further, you will discover different types of events and parties, and maybe then, you will be convinced that there’s a lot to know about events.

BANGKOK

Hello Bangkok!

Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is a city that never fails to amaze. Upon arrival, visitors are immediately struck by its diverse array of attractions and the unique interplay between tradition and modernity. On one hand, there are floating markets, stilt houses, and ancient temples steeped in history. On the other hand, towering skyscrapers and bustling urban chaos abound. With such a fascinating blend of old and new, it's hard to resist approaching Bangkok with a light-hearted spirit.

Bangkok is one of the most visited cities in the whole world, putting it side by side with tourist attraction places like Paris, New York, Rome, and others. It’s almost impossible to mention Bangkok without referencing its street and night life, as well as cultural landmarks. The bubbling almost starts from the Suvarnabhumi Airport till the far end of the city. What is even more fascinating is that night times in Bangkok witness more fun, people and activities than the day. It wouldn’t even be a fair comparison to compare Bangkok to any other place in Thailand, and the whole of Asia. Indeed, Bangkok is simply the perfect place to go if you want to have explosive moments with your friends and loved ones.

If you are looking forward to having an event here, be it a very small party featuring you alone in a VIP club, or the one that features you and your close pals at a hotel rooftop, or an elaborate party that features a crowd of well-wishers and bystanders, you have all the resources to turn it into a reality. It is just a matter of knowing where to look and which people to meet. As a first timer in Thailand, you surely need all the help that you can get. Help comes in handy for you whether you have been living in Thailand since ages, or you are only planning your first ever visit to this wonderful city of Bangkok, rich in culture, vibes and fun. Thailand is a fast-paced country, where citizens are either having fun already, or planning to have fun, and no other city exemplifies that more than Bangkok.

Having said that, things can get unsurprisingly disorganized so fast that you easily lose track of time, and perception of reality. Some holidays have patterned, but fluctuating dates, and can become confusing to know when the season is right for an event. Depending on the type of your event, or its magnitude, you want to make sure you are not missing a vital information. After all, events are every moment of life. All you need is to design it well, and the celebration will worth every penny and effort.

When it comes to designing an event, there’s really no standard definition confining its scope to some litigation and ethical processes. Event can be anytime and can be fashioned any way; for example, if you wish to travel with your best mate to Thailand for some fun and upon reaching Bangkok, you discover that your date coincides, or in a worst-case scenario, clashes with an important holiday, that alone shouldn’t hamper your plans.

In such a situation, instead of searching around for clubs, that may expose you and your activities to the public, you can decide to have a private party where you simply book a VIP table in an exclusive club, hire a bodyguard and ask him to dress casually, bearing the appearance of a friend to join your party, order some flower to be placed on your table and let your VIP table shine in a club and stand out of crowd.

Arrive at club by limousine, go to skin care before the clubbing, go renew your shopping, look sharp etc.

Every second of catching a breath is worth celebrating, and nothing should stop you from doing that.

HOLIDAYS TO TAKE NOTE OF

Just to reiterate, nothing should stop you from celebrating your achievements; nothing should hinder you from having a nice time with your lover, or friends; nothing should come in between you and your family members. Everything is worth celebrating. However, it is also very important to put some things into consideration. This is for your good. In fact, having some things at the back of your mind could potentially help you take advantage of the moment. For instance, you can creatively design your event or party to include and incorporate a festival celebration in Bangkok. In that way, you not only get to celebrate with your friends and close relatives, but with the whole of Bangkok people that honor such festival. Moreover, holidays are a great way to apply for visas and plan yourself ahead.

Like every other city around the world, there are a lot of peculiar holidays and special events native to Bangkok that are worthy of notes to visitors and immigrants. Whether you are flying from Yemen in the far Middle East, Mexico in North America, Philippines in Southeast Asia, or Chile in South America, things are pretty much the same when it comes to holidays and festivities. Some holidays are strictly observed, while some are not necessary. It will be in your best interest to familiarize yourself with the city’s calendar to avoid bad plans and getting yourself into an unnecessary mess that you could have otherwise avoided.

Below is a comprehensive list of holidays and events worthy of note as at the time of writing this book. Before we delve into the holidays, please note that in Thailand, holidays are scheduled based on a consistent pattern regarding weekends. If a public holiday coincides with a weekend, then that weekend is considered as part of the holiday. If a public holiday falls on a weekend, then an additional day off is given on Monday. However, if a public holiday falls on a weekday, it is observed on that specific day without extending to the next weekend.

New Year's Day Holiday (30th of December to 2nd of January)

Thailand observes three New Year's Days, with the first one being International New Year's Day on January 1st. This holiday period spans four days, starting from December 30th and continuing until January 2nd of the following year. The public holiday for January 1st and 2nd is extended to include the next weekend, but only if they don't occur midweek.

Across Thailand, festivities such as fireworks displays and New Year countdown events are organized nationwide. Although it's not the Buddhist New Year, numerous Thais visit nearby temples to offer alms to the monks. If this piques your interest, you may decide to book your flight on time to share in the fun. Furthermore, this kind of a holiday usually grounds almost every corporate activity, meaning that your friends and family members will most likely be available for some fun.

Makha Bucha Day (24th of February)

This Buddhist public holiday is observed for one day in Thailand and commemorates the teachings that Buddha delivered on the same day, centuries ago. Thai individuals usually observe this day by visiting their nearby temples to meditate, offer alms to monks, and perform acts of kindness as a tribute to Buddha. If you, yourself are a Buddhist, you can take advantage of this holiday to perform an act of kindness as a tribute to Buddha. An act of kindness can be as simple as inviting your friends to dinner at an expensive hotel in the city.

The Songkran Holiday (13th to 16th of April)

The start of the Thai New Year is signaled by the Songkran Festival, which takes place on April 13th. This four-day Buddhist festival is usually held from April 13th to 16th, but could last for up to 10 days in many places in Thailand. More so, the Thai government may reschedule the dates as required. So, it would be in your best interest to keep yourself up to date with the eventualities that may arise.

Also referred to as the Water Splashing Festival or the Festival of Water, Songkran is observed by dousing one another with water. This act signifies the purification of sins and the eradication of bad luck accumulated in the past year. During this period, one can hardly think of a better way to have a nice time with your friends, your lover and of course, family members. You can salvage this opportunity to organize an outdoor event, like a beach party in your villa, to celebrate the milestones you guys have achieved so far in life, and of course, to wish one another a great future ahead.

Labor Day Holiday (1st of May)

Similar to many other nations, Thailand observes Labor Day on May 1st. This public holiday is set aside to recognize the labor movement's social and economic accomplishments and to enhance the rights of employees. Nonetheless, the way Labor Day was commemorated in the past is no longer prevalent in Thailand, as many individuals now regard it as just another day off. However, you may want to fix your event date to before or after this day.

Visakha Bucha Holiday (22nd of May)

Visakha Bucha Day, another significant public holiday in Thailand, honors the Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and passing. This day is determined by Thailand's lunar calendar and usually falls in May, with 22nd of May being the observed date. The holiday lasts for three days and is extended to include the adjacent weekend, except when it falls between Tuesday and Thursday. Committed Buddhists gather at nearby temples to engage in acts of kindness to honor the Buddha, which involves making donations and performing several rituals. These may include releasing birds and fish, among others, to create merit, or visiting a zoo with your friends to watch and feed some animals.

H.M. The Queen's Birthday Holiday (1st to 3rd of June)

The national H.M. Queen's Birthday holiday takes place from June 1st to 3rd. This public holiday in Thailand celebrates the birthday of the current queen, Queen Suthida, which falls on June 3rd. Throughout the holiday, government offices will be shut down. The general public typically cleans and adorns their residences and establishments as a tribute to the queen on this day. Perhaps, this could be the perfect time to invite your lover over for a to spend the night in nice, clean and premium nearby 5-star hotel.

The Queen Mother's Birthday Holiday (10th to 12th of August)

This particular holiday, commemorating the birthday of Queen Sirikit (the Queen Mother), is scheduled for August 10th to 12th. As the mother of King Vajiralongkorn and the late King Bhumibol's widow, Queen Sirikit's birthday (August 12th) is observed with great fervor in Thailand.

In addition, this day serves as an occasion to pay tribute to mothers all across the nation, essentially making it Thailand's equivalent of Mother's Day. Needless it is to state the obvious fact that this day makes up for a perfect surprise party for your mother, sister, daughter, wife or girlfriend.

Chulalongkorn Day (23rd of October)

Chulalongkorn, also known as King Rama V, was a former King of Thailand who is commemorated with a public holiday dedicated to his memory. This day serves as a tribute to his life and achievements, which included major reforms during his reign that greatly influenced the economy, labor rights, and human rights in Thailand. During his reign, King Rama V abolished slavery, instituted freedom of speech, and introduced Western economic models, resulting in improved income levels for the Thai people.

King Bhumibol's Birthday (5th of December)

Every year, 5th of December is a public holiday for Thai people to pay respect to and honor the late King Bhumibol, whose birthday falls on that day. Thai people will have a day off from December 5. The day doubles up as the Thai version of "Father's Day," as this is the day when fathers are honored for their devotion to their children. On this day, you can take your father, brother, son, husband or boyfriend on a yacht ride to show them how much you care for them and love them.

Constitution Day (10th of December)

The holiday serves as an opportunity to celebrate both the Thai monarchy and its constitution. In the 1930s, Thailand faced an economic depression, and King Rama VII worked hard to lead the country through this difficult period. As a result, he implemented reforms that led to the transformation of the country's governance into a constitutional monarchy, thus reducing some of the monarchy's power. The holiday serves as an opportunity to celebrate both the Thai monarchy and its constitution.

Fun fact: Thailand observes approximately 20 national holidays each year, with the Songkran Festival being the most significant and widely celebrated. Also, nearly every month of the year has a holiday associated with it.

There are a couple of other holidays that you can easily make your findings on. You can ask people around, or just watch follow the local TV and radio stations because they usually announce holidays as they happen.

If you plan on traveling to Thailand during a public holiday, keep in mind that tourist attractions and hotels tend to be very crowded during these periods. Additionally, it's important to note that banks and government buildings typically remain closed during these times, so plan accordingly.

Despite the closures of banks and government buildings during public holidays in Thailand, many businesses continue to operate. This means that you can still enjoy visits to malls, restaurants, and popular tourist spots, and even organize and design your event around them. However, due to the expected crowds, it's crucial to book flights, accommodation, and any attraction visits well in advance. Additionally, arriving as early as possible for all travel arrangements is highly recommended.

Nevertheless, ideal time to visit Bangkok is during the period between November and March when temperatures are moderate and rainfall is relatively low. This time of the year is also perfect for experiencing various cultural celebrations, such as the Chinese New Year festivities in February. Keep in mind that the date of this event varies each year based on the lunar calendar, so be sure to check the specific dates before planning your trip.

Winter is the mildest season in Bangkok, but at the same time, the busiest in terms of tourism visits. It's important to carefully consider booking your holiday in advance, particularly between late December and early January, to avoid any difficulties with availability.

Apart from the boat-borne fruits and vegetables, you can relish some delectable freshly made meals in a serene ambiance that's a world away from the commotion of the city center. Even if you're not interested in buying anything, you can take a two-hour long-tail boat ride with your lover and savor the market's sights and sounds before retiring to bed later at night.

ACTIVITIES TO ADD TO YOUR ITINERARY

Family Time Out in Bangkok

Family time out is an essential aspect of any trip to Thailand, where the emphasis is on enjoying quality time together and creating unforgettable memories. From the mesmerizing view of the Sky Bar to the floating market of Damnoen Saduak, Bangkok offers something for every member of the family. One of the best ways to spend family time out in Bangkok is by exploring the city's rich cultural heritage. It is home to numerous temples, palaces, and ruins that provide an insightful glimpse into Thailand's past.

Wat Arun, also known as The Temple of Dawn is an impressive silhouette-making scenery at night when the lights hit the back of the structure. This structure reminiscence the birth of the Rattanakosin Period and it is a soothing place to spend some quality times with yourself and your family members. In the same vein, Asiatique, the Riverfront located along Chareonkrung Road is a great place to shop and try new dishes with your family members. There’s usually a lot of fun activities ongoing in this place, and thankfully, you can join in with your family. Don’t worry about not getting along with the environ and commodities because it is an international trade port, and the level of diversity is insane!

Photo Sessions in Bangkok

What is a tour without photographs to show for it? Grab your phones, DSLR, point and shoot cameras and camcorders and get ready to fill up your photo diary and books. A pro tip: make sure you have enough digital storage to contain your photographs. With a good camera, camera skill, and vantage point, everywhere in Bangkok is photo-worthy, but here are some thoughtful locations in Bangkok to get the best shot if you just want to point your camera and shoot stunning pictures.

Asiatique is first on this list because everything about it is just breathtaking. From the layout of the streets, to the arrangements of the boutiques and restaurants, and even the way passersby are arranged. This place is so good for photos such that it is almost impossible to pass by and not see 5-10 persons taking landscape shots with their phones. It is very tempting, to say the least. Equally on the list are locations like the Grand Palace, Wat Prakeaw, Wat Pho, Chinatown, Wat Arun, Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Jim Thompson’s House, Vertigo at Banyan Tree, Chao Phraya River and Waterways, Bangkok Floating Markets, Bangkok Museums, Bangkok Temples, and the list goes on.

History Time in Bangkok

Bangkok temples and museums are a great way to dig into the history of the city, and even histories of other regions. These two places are like a portal linking the past to the present, and the present to the future. If you are the adventurous, knowledge-loving inquisitive type, setting apart a time to visit these sacred places would be a great addition to your itinerary. A lot of museums and temples have already been detailed in the preceding sections.

Nightlife in Bangkok

Bangkok is known for an exceptional nightlife atmosphere, among other things. Nights are even more lively than days here, and this is where you can sap most of the fun things you were told about. As a young guy, you cannot afford to miss out on the possible adventure that you can witness here. You can decide to be an onlooker who simply takes a seat in the most expensive, luxurious and decorated table in a very cool club or hotel, sipping his champagne and just observing the environment. Or you can decide to be an active participant where you can dance away all the stress you may have accumulated from your home country, while toasting to the good life. This is also a great opportunity to celebrate your birthday, and for this occasion, you can go as far as booking the whole hotel or club to yourself, and dedicate every of its activities to celebrating your birthday and eulogizing your presence.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong in drawing all the attention to yourself as you bounce out of your limousine ride or even hop out of a private jet or helicopter while your bodyguards do everything to make sure that you walk and enter your destination in grand style. The kind of attention you get doing this surely will attract quality people to you, both men and women and in their numbers of course. Imagine a well-dressed handsome man in an expensive attire, wearing an expensive perfume, coming out of an expensive ride, heading for the most expensive table, ordering the most expensive drinks in an expensive hotel or club; will you not love to associate yourself with such a man? Yea, you definitely want to.

Even better is if your girlfriend tags along with you to the club or bar of your choice. Let’s say you are in Thailand for a very short visit, but need a girlfriend in quick time, you may check out legitimate dating platforms. If you are lucky, you may match with someone on there. However, it is advised to proceed with caution so you do not end up with someone you would rather not. Also, bear in mind that the process may not be as fast as you want because of the talking stage, and the other formalities of starting a new relationship.

While many tourists easily think of escorts (Russian, European, Ukrainian and Thai escorts) as their best option in (Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket) Thailand, you would rather want to proceed with caution. To begin with, you are most likely a stranger in Thailand, and you are vulnerable, and appear as an easy target to these escort ladies, and they cannot wait to use their pretentious, predatory and opportunistic prowess on you. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid these kinds of girls by every means. Most of them are not even worthy of you and your status. They are not fair, fresh or even eloquent, and you have to be the luckiest person on earth to not pay for through the roof for the services of an overaged attitude-giving ladies (escorts).

Don’t even think about using (Russian, European, Ukrainian and Thai escorts) escort sites in Thailand unless you wish to give in to the sheer deceit with their overly edited, fake and unreal photos. In fact, they are not worth your stress because most of these escorts registered on escort websites are nothing far from gold diggers and love pretender. Everything they say or do is just an act to siphon your money. Nothing is real with them. Lastly, you don’t want to pick a random girl from the street. They are not in any way different from their sisters on dishonest (Russian, European, Ukrainian and Thai escorts) escort agencies. Having said all these, the best way to get yourself the lady that matches your persona is to set yourself for the best ladies around. If you visit the spa and get your skin treated and cared for before hopping into the club, you will simply attract the finest ladies (including nice local ladies or even foreign tourist girls) therein automatically. Now, couple that with your luxurious appearance and you are just unstoppable and invincible, even to the guys with the same intentions as you. You may even end up with a tourist lady like yourself.

Another good way to partake of the nightlife fun in Bangkok is by eating out at a local restaurant where intercontinental dishes are served. The diversity in Bangkok also finds its way into the kitchens of most restaurants therein. Therefore, you avail yourself the opportunity of tasting intercontinental dishes from around the world. You can walk in as a regular Thai, place your order and enjoy your savory meal, but it is not a taboo if you wish to steal the show. In fact, steal the show!

One other way to get yourself immersed in the night atmosphere of Bangkok is by sampling taking a walk down the street. Perhaps, this is the least talked about option for visitors, but it is a great way to while away time, feed your eyes, meet new people, and stretch yourself as an icing on the cake.

When it comes to which location to use or specific markets to drive to, creating a list will end up as a confinement. In the real sense, everywhere in Bangkok, other than museums and temples, is great and suitable for nightlife. What will help you trim down your options can be your tastes, preferences, needs, mission and interest. For example, if you want to eat out, then you will be talking about the best restaurants in the locality. If you want to chill out, then you will be considering the 5-star hotels in the area. And if it is a drive through, you will be scanning though your list of hailing apps and transport services, which we will discuss in detail in the latter chapters.

Shopping in Bangkok

Shopping is one of the most popular tourist activities in Bangkok, and it's worth including in your itinerary as it showcases the vibrant culture and bustling energy of the city. Another popular shopping spot is Siam Paragon, one of Bangkok's premier shopping malls, which offers a wide range of luxury brands, restaurants, and entertainment options. You can enjoy designer fashion, gourmet food, and even catch a movie at the cinema. For a more traditional shopping experience, the floating markets of Bangkok are worth exploring. These markets are located on the canals of Bangkok and offer a unique shopping experience where you can purchase fresh produce, souvenirs, and try local street food among other things that you can do therein. A lot of markets have been detailed already, and you can go check them up one more time.

Food Date Event/Party in Bangkok

Food is a major attraction for tourists visiting Bangkok and it's definitely worth considering. It showcases the city's unique culinary scene and prowess. Bangkok is renowned for its street food, which offers a wide range of delicious local and intercontinental dishes that could make the difference as you treat your partner or the lady you met while on holiday to a food date. One of the best places to experience street food is Chinatown, also known as Yaowarat. This vibrant area is home to a plethora of street vendors selling mouth-watering dishes such as dim sum, seafood, and noodles. The area also has a number of popular restaurants, some of which have been around for generations.

Another popular food destination in Bangkok is the Chatuchak Weekend Market, which not only offers a shopping experience as mentioned in the previous section, but also a chance to taste some of the city's most famous street food. You and your date can indulge in dishes such as pad Thai, grilled meats, intercontinental dishes and fresh fruit smoothies while exploring the market.

And if you are looking for a more upscale dining experience, Bangkok has a number of world-class restaurants offering a range of cuisines from Thai to international. Some of the top restaurants in the city are located in luxury hotels such as The Oriental, where guests can enjoy gourmet food with stunning views of the Chao Phraya River. It is a total package in there.

Couple Time in Bangkok

Your travel to Bangkok would be incomplete without creating that special moment for you and your other half. Where to go is a problem of choice and communication between you and your partner. Every temple, every museum, every market, every hotel, every club and every restaurant are all places you can visit with your partner. Also include in the list beaches, riversides, zoos, resorts, cafés, and so on. There’s really no place you cannot utilize for a “couple time.” The most important thing is to discuss with your partner so you are sure you both are on the same page, unless of course, you are trying to surprise them. There are a lot of ways in which you can treat your partner to a surprise dinner or outing, and we will discuss them in the next chapter.

Doing It Differently in Bangkok

Most times when tourists visit Thailand, they are so concerned about the city life that they never imagine what could be missed in the faraway remote places in Thailand. To say the least, it is wholesome, chilling, clean, serene and therapeutic to enjoy a party or a drink with your friends in the local communities of Thailand. You get to enjoy the best of Thai local communities especially when you and your friends are the only foreign people around—all of the attention will be on you and your friend, and consequently, you will enjoy special treatments. Oh! You will meet beautiful local Thai ladies (and not escorts) that will genuinely like you. Just make sure to be on your best behavior towards the local people you meet; be respectful towards them and watch them reciprocate the respect. To ensure that you are respect all of the time, do not get drunk. Oh! You will

You won’t get much information regarding this, but thankfully, you can ask locals around, they will be more than willing to help. Just do it differently and see what you may be missing.

TYPES OF EVENTS

Bangkok is home to all sorts of events, parties and occasions. From very casual events to the most corporate events, there’s absolutely nothing that misses the list of events that you can possibly hold in Bangkok. Here is a list of events, parties and occasions that you can make arrangements for in Bangkok. Note that this list is not comprehensive—cannot even be comprehensive to be honest. As days go by, new kinds and fashions of parties come into existence, and it is supposed to be so. After all, we don’t need any reason at all to celebrate. The ability to respirate is enough reason on its own to celebrate. So, this list rather enumerates some common types of events.

Birthday Party in Bangkok

Birthdays are unique occasions that remind you of both your age and your achievements. They provide an excellent opportunity to show appreciation for someone special, and giving gifts is a way to express our love for them. Celebrating a birthday isn't just about acknowledging how long you have lived; it's also a chance to reflect on your accomplishments. Birthdays make you feel special and loved by your family and friends, and it's essential to celebrate your own as well as others' birthdays. Celebrating your birthday is a way to show self-love and appreciation for yourself. Therefore, how you celebrate your birthday matters a lot. For a special occasion such as your birthday, you really need to get the most out of that day.

Thankfully, Bangkok is ready for you and your day. With countless locations befitting for the occasion, you surely have no excuse to not celebrate. It can be a very modest party of you and your girlfriend in an exclusive restaurant or hotel sipping champagne, or a not so modest party where you invite your closest friends to your preferred location and treat them to a nice dinner to commemorate the big day. It could be in a mini, but expensive party in a boat ride in the floating markets of Bangkok, or a yacht in a beach. It can also be an elaborate party where you invite as many people as possible, serve them nice intercontinental dishes and even local dishes. There’s really no scope and limit to what you can do with and on your birthday. It is your day, and you call the shots. Whatever you say, Bangkok has the enabling environment.

Party in a Bangkok’s Club Alone

Borrowing from the initial iteration and assertion, you need no reason to celebrate! Contrary to the popular belief that partying alone is off, or say, weird, partying alone in the club of your choice happens to be one of the most liberating things you will ever expend your money on, leaving you with no trace of regrets in the future. It is very therapeutic go out all by yourself into a club. It feels like you are in your own world, where you decide what happens, and when it happens. It leaves you with no worrying about the safety of a second or third person. Remember, you are all by yourself. You can party alone in a club in Bangkok to celebrate your birthday, or commemorate the milestone that you have reached so far in life, or just to relax, unwind and have some fun with new and exciting people. As a young guy who has been working all his life, trying to secure his financial security, you can see partying alone as the perfect time to reflect on your life so—to pause and see how far you have come, and of course, forge ahead. In a nutshell, this kind of a party is usually an avenue for you to pause and take that break that you have been longing for. It is also one of the best ways to position yourself to meet quality and great people. The alluring prospect of going out alone is the uncertainty of who you may encounter. Many people have met their girlfriends, and even wives from partying alone in a club.

Partying alone in a club can be very simple as you walking into a very random club near your hotel or residence, but it can also be as sophisticated as it can get. Major determinants here are your tastes, preferences, how creative you are, and a bit of your personality. You have the option to keep it simple, modest, and yet classy, just like you have the option to go all out on it. For this type of a party, you can use the services of bodyguards for security and aesthetics purposes, hire a makeup artist to make your face up, and trim your hair. You may even visit the spa one or two days prior to the clubbing day just to make sure that you are appearing in your best look and attire. There is no limit to what you can do and achieve with this kind of a party. You just have to know what you desire, and be creative with it.

Party with Your Friends, Coworkers or Boss in Bangkok

Parties, regardless of your fondness or aversion towards them, hold significance. They serve as a venue for you as an individual to meet and mingle with potential business partners, romantic interests, and friends. Mundane conversations can transform into meaningful encounters. Most of the things you can actually enjoy in a party alone can actually be better enjoyed with your friends, including your colleagues you’ve worked with over the years or the one you met on the football peace a fortnight ago, or even the one you met at the bar two days ago.

When arranging an event or a party that will feature you and your friends, a lot come into play. But you have to bear at the back of your mind that the party will mostly likely be about you as the host, and therefore, most of the activities should be tailored to your needs. Even if you happen to be the most generous and selfless person, you still have to be a bit selfish here, and so for good reasons. First, you cannot design an event that will equally match the taste of every attendee. No matter how perfect it is, one person must find it imperfect. Therefore, the best thing to do is to host the party, design it according to your taste, and let your friends come partake of it.

Partying with your friends can happen in a hotel, in a nightclub, at a bar, in a boat, by the riverside, in a club, at a hotel rooftop, in an escort of limousines, in a luxurious bus, in a restaurant where you can easily order delicious foods, and even golf courses. A boat ride at the floating markets is not a bad idea too as you not only get to have a nice time with your friends, but you will also immerse yourself deeply in the cherished culture and tradition of Thais.

As a matter of fact, designing an event or a party that will feature your friends is a lot of work to do, and the first line of preparation starts mentally. Take a deep breath and breathe out and ready yourself for the task ahead. You have to ask yourself where you want the party, what activities you wish to feature in the party, how you want the party, what kinds of foods and drinks. You also have to ask yourself if a dress code is necessary, or friends can just turn in with whatever they feel comfortable in. Conveying your friends to the venue is also an important consideration. This is even more important if your friends are visitors and you do not want them stressing and spending so much on fare. To this end, you can easily book rides for each of them, or in groups if they are together. There are many hailing platforms that offer great services in Bangkok and you can afford to choose at random. Language is not even a barrier as some of these hailing platforms give you the option to book English-speaking drivers. More on transportation and hailing platforms will be discussed in the coming chapters.

For example, you can enjoy a balloon ride with your partner in the evening, or set up a table for the both of you by the riverside of the hotel. If you are conservative enough, you may not need to step out of the hotel premise at all, but it is all up to you if you wish to take the fun elsewhere. It is totally fine. Make sure to add spa and massage to your honeymoon

It will make perfect sense for you to make very special for her. If you don’t want a lukewarm kind of proposal, then you have to prepare to do something not lukewarm. It goes without saying that proposals in shopping malls, grocery stores, boutiques have become so rampant and cliché that they no longer spot that interesting feeling. To be explicit, those kinds of proposals are now mundane, boring and too common. By the way, you shouldn’t fly all the way from your home country just because you are in search of the best restaurant, store or hallway to propose to your girlfriend. You should try something new, something refreshing, and something adventurous. It could even positively affect your chances of getting an affirmative yes.

Proposals that happen in a yacht, at a hotel rooftop, in a resort, a moving private luxurious bus, an air balloon or a private jet will surely make up for a very pleasant surprise. What about a horse ride by the beach? There are a lot of unconventional approaches to arrange a proposal for the beautiful love of your life. There’s nowhere you cannot plan a proposal, from nature to landmarks, restaurants, the list is endless.

To keep the romantic atmosphere going, you can also extend the ambiance throughout the rest of your chosen location. It's important to take into account the preferences of your significant other when planning the menu for the evening. This includes considering their favorite foods, any food allergies or intolerances they may have, or if they have a particular favorite chef. One of the many benefits of a VIP table at a club is the fact that you get a dedicated place to sit down and have enough space to dance by yourself, with a beautiful girl (including hot local ladies or international foreign tourist girls) of your choice, or with your friends and not get interrupted by bystanders. A VIP table at a club signals a glimpse of your worth to the crowd, even without you lifting a finger. VIP sections are always swarming with beautiful international ladies, and the best part is that you don’t have to stress yourself to get their attention. Your table will do the talking and the calling while you simply observe with your arms folded.

Talking about a VIP entry to a club, this is when you hire an executive ride, for example, a limousine, an AMG, or even a Helicopter to drop you off at the entrance of the club, and you are led in by your bodyguards. If you want, these bodyguards can dress very casually to appear as your friend to the audience that you create. But even acting as your friends, they will still ensure to accord you the respect that you need—the kind of respect that will distinguish you among the rest. It really is a great feeling to experience, at least once in a lifetime, and if you can afford it, please, go for it. Make sure your VIP table shines, so you may arrange some flowers etc. to be placed on your table.

However, due to the city's notorious traffic conditions, motorbike taxis may be preferred in some cases. Thailand’s transportation and ride-hailing app industry is constantly changing, and currently, Grab and Bolt are the major players in the market. But as a visitor, you may ponder which is better to use. In fact, there’s no significantly better one than the other. It all boils down to the matter of preference and availability. Both of them render identical services, and it is as if they are each other’s role models. For example, you get to choose an English-speaking driver on both Grab and Bolt apps. But generally speaking, short rides are typically cheaper with Bolt while Grab covers more cities. It is not a bad idea if you have both apps on your phone. After all, that is the beauty of having options.

Finally, it is possible to travel in pairs on these motorbikes without a significant difference in fare rates.

As You are Coming to Thailand

Thailand is widely recognized as one of the most convenient travel destinations in Asia, owing to its abundance of attractions, minimal inconveniences, and widespread availability of English signage and menus, making navigation a breeze, day or night. Despite these advantages, there are still a few things that visitors should be aware of to optimize their travel experience. If you want to get the most out of your trip to Thailand, follow these tips:

Rainy Season Varies Depending on Where You are

From June to October, the rainy season in northern, central, and southwestern regions of Thailand sees frequent storms and heavy rainfall, rendering sea travel unsafe. The southeast coast and the Gulf of Thailand, on the other hand, experience a similar phenomenon from October to December. While traveling during the rainy season may result in reduced prices and fewer tourists, certain lodgings may shut down, and several ferry routes, including those to the Tarutao islands, may be suspended. Therefore, if you choose to visit during this period, it is advisable to carry appropriate wet weather gear.

Check for Recommended Vaccinations

It's likely that you have already received the COVID-19 vaccine, but medical professionals also suggest receiving vaccinations for tetanus and hepatitis A. Additionally, it's advisable to consider getting vaccinated for rabies due to the possibility of contracting the viral disease from dogs, cats, and monkeys. Along the borders with Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Malaysia, malaria is present, and it's recommended to take anti-malarial prophylaxis such as atovaquone/proguanil or doxycycline if you plan on traveling to these regions.

Book Your Trip Ahead of Time

If you have a specific boat journey, train trip, trek, tour, or boutique stay in mind, it's recommended to make reservations in advance, particularly during the bustling tourist season from November to March or during any religious holidays. On the other hand, if you plan on traveling during the rainy season, it's best to contact your desired destination ahead of time via phone or email to ensure their availability.

Follow Local Etiquette When Meeting Thai People

In Thailand, it's customary to greet locals with a wai, which involves lowering your head and pressing your palms together in front of your chest as a sign of respect. It's not advisable to offer a handshake unless the other person extends their hand first. If you are invited into a Thai home, which is likely to happen since Thais are renowned for their hospitality, it's crucial to remove your shoes before entering and avoid pointing the soles of your feet towards others.

Dress Modestly

It's typical for Thai women and men to refrain from wearing revealing clothing that exposes a lot of skin. While it's acceptable to wear swimsuits at the beach, it's advisable to cover up with a sarong or fisherman's pants and don something that covers your shoulders if you visit sacred sites. Topless or nude sunbathing is not culturally acceptable and may result in unwanted attention.

Prices May Well be Inflated for Tourists

Thailand is generally known for being hassle-free, but it's not uncommon for tourists to be overcharged for tuk-tuks and taxi rides without meters. To avoid being overcharged, it's recommended to inquire from a local about the standard fare for a particular journey and utilize that information as a benchmark for a reasonable price. To reiterate, always remember to settle the fare before boarding to avoid dispute at the end of the journey. This has been emphasized in the previous chapters

You May be Approached by Local Sex Workers (Ukrainian, Uzbek, Russian or even European escorts)

Whether or not you desire to encounter Thailand's sex industry, it's possible that it may come to your attention. Solo male travelers, as well as couples, may encounter sex workers or promoters trying to solicit business, and it's crucial to be prepared to decline such propositions firmly for reasons that have been stated in the previous chapters. It's important to note that certain establishments, such as bars, restaurants, and karaoke venues, serve as fronts for the sex industry. Signs to be aware of include red or pink strip lights, a large number of scantily clad female personnel, and numerous foreign male patrons.

Be Very Cautious When Riding a Scooter

Numerous travelers opt to rent a scooter or motorcycle in Thailand, but it's important to ensure that your domestic driver's license covers the type of vehicle you wish to rent. Furthermore, have your passport (or a duplicate of the ID pages) with you in case the authorities demand it. While riding a rented vehicle, be sure to wear a helmet, exercise caution, and confirm that the rental includes liability insurance. Thailand sees hundreds of motorcycle and scooter accidents involving tourists every year. Be mindful to yield to larger vehicles and be aware of obstacles like livestock, potholes, and other hazards on the road.

With all this information, you are good to go. Enjoy your visit to BANGKOK!
